Northampton Aikido Club

Northampton Aikido club teaches the self defence art of Aikido.  Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the energy of the attack to defenders benefit.  This requires very little physical energy or strength as the defender will lead the attacker into a weak position where they can perform either a pin or a throw.

Founded by the late Sensei John Wevill (passed Jan 2014), the club has run for well over 20 years.  The clubs focus is on safe practice whilst demonstrating the power of the technique.

The club is currently closed whilst seeking new accommodation to practice in.

Northampton aikido club is associated with the Kai Shin Kai, but is a separate club from the Northamtpon KSK club.
